Spring Bazaar 2025

Our Spring Bazaar in the Kurhauskolonnaden was once again a great success this year.

On both the set-up day and the sales day, over 100 hard-working club ladies were busy sorting the fleas collected over the weeks and then selling them yesterday.

It was a great honour for us to welcome our supporters from the Salvation Army, Dr Gerhard Obermayr, Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende and Lord Mayor candidate Thilo von Debschitz.

The weather was in our favour and we had a lively influx of visitors throughout the day. The champagne bar and coffee house were almost overrun due to the super tasty offerings from Smarti Muffin to lovingly decorated rolls and the artistically designed American glass cake.

The atmosphere was relaxed and many visitors went home with a smile on their faces and great new acquisitions.

Spring Bazaar 2024 –  donations

On the occasion of our Spring Bazaar in Wiesbaden's Kurshaus (April 20, 2024), the two presidents Ulrike Jaskulski-Klein and Sarah Szwaj received a donation of EUR 5,000 from Heinz-Dieter Glogowsky and Jens Peter Jens and the board of Dr. Alex and Eva Friend Foundation. Eva Friend, who died in Wiesbaden in 2011, founded this foundation in honor of her first husband, a well-known gynecologist from Chicago; it promotes international understanding and in particular friendship with the USA as well as science.

Since 2018, the foundation has been able to support the Wiesbaden club with EUR 40,000.

Spring Bazaar 2024

The 70th Charity Spring Bazaar on April 20, 2024 was more than successful! Rarely before have there been so many people in line half an hour before the opening. To our delight, the crowd was enormous. Because the more we raise at this charity bazaar, the more extensive our help is for many social organizations in Wiesbaden.

The stands were overflowing with great goods, as almost 600 boxes were sorted, packed and unpacked again before the Bazaar. The Bazaar is a challenge for all of us every year. On Friday and Saturday, more than 120 women worked hard, on a voluntary basis, of course. Some husbands were also called in to help. Also as so-called "Wardens" because, unfortunately, there are always people who like to take something without paying for it, even though the prices at our bazaar are very reasonable.

With almost 700 prizes, the raffle went beyond the limit.

And with a magical cookbook you had just won under your arm, you could enjoy the new recipes with a glass of champagne and delicious homemade cakes in our “German-American Coffee”.

Christmas for children

Parohia Hârsova Vasluis Alben

December 2020

Thousands of thanks to Mrs. Deborah Cole, the Church of St. Augustine of Canterbury in Wiesbaden, Christ the King Church in Frankfurt am Main - they chose to bring a smile to the children’s faces. We were happy to take part in this initiative! The little ones were excited when they received their gifts.

We are grateful that they think about us every year when trying to make the children’s Christmas more beautiful.
