Trip to Colmar
September 7, 2025
Full of joy and curiosity about Colmar and Alsatian wine, our trip began at 6 a.m. on the bus.
After a 4-hour drive, we finally arrived in a beautiful little town, best known for its incredibly beautifully decorated houses. We were thrilled! Everything was very well maintained and clean, the people were friendly, there were tempting shops selling specialties and enchanting sweets—a paradise for children and adults alike. For kids, this was especially true because of the Christmas decorations, omnipresent even in summer.
It's no surprise that Colmar is one of the most beautifully decorated towns in France. Now and at Christmas.
And let's not forget that the good mood really kicks in with a glass of fine Alsatian wine and crémant. All in all, a wonderful day trip and definitely not our last.
Summer Party / Potluck
June 12, 2025, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
How do you say goodbye to the season? With a barbecue!
On June 12, we met for a wonderful party in the garden of our International President, Ulrike Jaskulski-Klein. It was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the diverse food and drinks and to see many women again before the summer break.
A big thank you to Ulli (and her husband, the chef) for this wonderful opportunity – the weather played along, so we couldn't have organized it better.
Club Anniversary
May 15, 2025, 3:00 p.m.
The club's 76th birthday was celebrated with coffee and exquisite cake in the Kurhaus!
Representatives of all social organizations supported by the German-American International Women's Club are traditionally invited for this occasion. Among them were the Clown Doctors who distract and comfort sick children through clowning. A total of more than €25,000 was donated to 12 different organizations.

Visit to the Kunsthalle Mannheim
Saturday, February 8, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
On February 8th we were able to visit the great exhibition "The New Objectivity" in the Kunsthalle in Mannheim.
A very competent guide introduced us to the works of Max Beckmann, George Grosz and Otto Dix, among others. The sheer objectivity was touching and sobering at the same time.
An exhibition that is absolutely worth seeing!
New Year's Reception - January 16, 2025
A very different New Year's reception than in the past!
This time we were celebrating the New Year in the evening (to ensure that our working members can also attend) and in an interesting location of Domäne Mechtildshausen.
We heard a comprehensive overview of the activities in 2024 and the way forward, the recognition of outgoing board members as well as long-standing members and other members who have contributed to the success of the club in previous years.
A lovely evening with good food and great conversations!
